Hours: Approximately 10–15 hours per week

Metropolis Resort is currently accepting applications for our IT Intern position! This internship is designed to give students hands-on experience supporting the technology that keeps a busy resort running every day.

As an IT Intern, you’ll have the opportunity to work alongside our IT team and gain experience with computers, devices, networks, point-of-sale systems, security technology, and troubleshooting throughout the resort. You’ll see how technology supports everything from the hotel and waterpark to Action City, restaurants, and administrative offices.

This is a great opportunity for someone interested in information technology, computer science, networking, cybersecurity, hardware, technical support, or technology systems to gain real-world experience in a fast-paced resort environment.

What You'll Do

  • Assist with computer and device setup throughout the resort.

  • Provide basic IT support and assist with troubleshooting technology issues.

  • Assist with POS systems, workstations, and other technology used throughout the property.

  • Help with network cabling and equipment installation.

  • Assist with Wi-Fi and network equipment.

  • Help with security camera installation and maintenance.

  • Assist with equipment inventory and organization.

  • Participate in IT projects throughout the resort.

  • Assist with preventative maintenance and general technology upkeep.

  • Shadow IT team members as they work with more advanced systems and troubleshoot more complex issues.

  • Work throughout different areas of the resort to see how technology supports daily operations.

  • Learn how the IT department responds to technology needs and requests from different departments.

  • Document information and take notes to help retain knowledge learned during training.

Technical Kowledge

Prior experience with Metropolis Resort's systems is not expected. Candidates should have:

  • A basic understanding of Windows computers.

  • Basic computer hardware knowledge.

  • A basic understanding of networking, including Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and IP addresses.

  • General troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  • The ability and willingness to learn new software and technology.

  • IT coursework, certifications, or related hands-on experience is helpful but not required.

  • Friendly, approachable, and comfortable communicating with guests and team members.

  • Understands that every interaction with a guest is part of the Metropolis experience.

  • Willing to provide helpful and professional service when assisting guests or team members with technology.

  • Understands how reliable technology and quick problem-solving can directly impact the guest experience.

  • Understands the importance of security, confidentiality, and protecting company information.

  • Able to work independently once given direction while knowing when to ask for assistance.

  • IT coursework, certifications, or related hands-on experience is helpful but not required.
