10 Family-Friendly Halloween Activities You Can Do at Home
Halloween fun doesn’t have to mean going out at night for trick-or-treats and partying. You can bring the spooktacular excitement right to your own home with games, challenges, and silly competitions the whole family will love. Here are ten safe and creative Halloween activities you can do at home!
1. Pumpkin Decorating Showdown

Set a timer for 20 minutes and see who can create the most creative pumpkin. You can use paints, stickers, markers, or even just paper cutouts. No sharp carving tools needed! Have someone else rank them for some extra competition.
2. Mummy Wrap Race

Break into teams and race to see who can wrap a family member up in toilet paper the fastest. The quickest (and neatest) wrap wins!
3. Monster Freeze Dance

Play Halloween-themed songs and dance your heart out. When the music stops, everyone has to freeze like a statue. If you move, you lose!
4. Candy Corn Chopstick Challenge

Dump some candy corn into a bowl and see who can move the most pieces using only chopsticks! Set a timer for a minute or two if you really want to up the stakes.
5. Spooky Scavenger Hunt

Hide Halloween-themed items (plastic spiders, small pumpkins, candy, etc.) around the house and give everyone a checklist to find them. The first one to check everything off the list gets a bonus prize!
6. Guess That Gross Stuff

Fill bowls with foods that feel creepy: peeled grapes (eyeballs), cooked spaghetti (worms), or Jell-O (slime). Blindfold players and have them guess what they're touching!
7. Costume Relay Race

Set up two piles of costumes and accessories. Players race to put on a full costume, run to the other side of the room, and tag the next teammate in!
8. Haunted Cookie Decorating

Bake (or buy) plain sugar cookies and challenge everyone to decorate the creepiest or funniest designs using frosting, candy, and sprinkles.
9. Boo Bowling

Stack paper towels, toilet paper, or empty bottles decorated like ghosts and use a small ball to knock them over. Keep score or just play for fun!
10. Glow-in-the-Dark Ring Toss

Use glow sticks to make rings and toss them onto plastic bottles or cones. Make sure to turn off the lights for extra Halloween magic!
