Metropolis Minute: 5 Things I Learned From Spring Break
Hey Everyone, it's Kate coming at ya from the Metropolis marketing team.
Now that we’re officially out of spring break season and I’m back at my desk, I figured I should take a second to reflect on everything I learned while out on the floor these past few weeks.
Because, you really do learn a lot during spring break.

1) We Make Kids Cry (In a Good Way, I Promise)
I saw a lot of kids cry over spring break.
Not because anything was wrong, but because their parents told them it was time to go home. Which, if you ask us, might be one of the best compliments we can get.
If a kid is that upset about leaving, it usually means they had a pretty great time while they were here.
2) You Should Probably Just Live Here
On a similar note, I heard some version of “I wish we could live here” more times than I can count.
And honestly, that's fair.
When you’ve got a water park, arcade, go-karts, food, and everything all in one place, it’s kind of hard to go back to real life. I can’t say we’re offering permanent residency just yet, but I get why it’s tempting.
3) Laundry Might Be the Most Important Job
Spring break is a good reminder that laundry never stops. Ever.
At the resort, at home, it doesn’t matter. You’re always just a little bit behind.
But I’ll say this...spending time in our laundry room is secretly one of my favorite things. Folding towels, catching up with coworkers, and just being part of the operations of the building. It’s one of those behind-the-scenes jobs that makes everything else possible.

4) Sibling Rivalries Are Alive and Well
Nothing brings out a little friendly competition like a day in Action City.
Whether it’s racing go-karts, trying to outscore each other in the arcade, or pulling a harmless prank here and there, sibling rivalries are definitely still going strong.
I know it might not always feel “fun” in the moment if you’re the parent, but from my perspective, I can’t help but smile. It reminds me so much of growing up with my own brothers. And looking back, those are some of the best memories and stories to hold onto from family trips.

5) It's Always About the People
At the end of the day, what stands out most from spring break isn’t just how busy it is, it’s the people.
Our team showing up and jumping in wherever needed. Families making time to be together. Kids creating memories they’ll probably talk about for years.
It’s all of those moments, big and small, that make the season what it is and I feel really grateful to be part of it.
Spring break is always a whirlwind, but it’s one of my favorite times of year for a reason. Thanks to everyone who spent part of their break with us and to our team for making it all happen.
I’m already looking forward to next year!
Kate
