Metropolis Minute: Winter Passes, From My Perspective

January 09, 20262 min read

Welcome back to the first "real" week of the year! Since we don't have a lot of big updates this week, I thought I'd let you in on some the reasons I love our Winter Season passes and the way I see families use them. Everyone who knows me knows that I'm not a huge fan of winter...so if winter is starting to feel long already, you’re not alone.

January through March can be a tough stretch. It’s cold, it gets dark early, and finding ways to get out of the house (especially with kids) can start to feel like a full-time job. I hope our Winter Season Passes can help with that!

Winter passes aren’t about planning a huge day every time you visit. They’re about having an easy yes option when you need it.

I see families use season passes in all kinds of ways:

  • A quick after-school stop to burn off energy

  • A snow day backup plan

  • A short visit just to get out of the house

  • Sibling playdates

  • Parents grabbing a coffee while kids run and play

You don’t have to stay all day. You don’t have to “make the most of it” every visit. Sometimes it’s just an hour, and that’s enough.

That’s one of the things I love most about winter passes. They take the pressure off. You can come when it works for you, leave when you’re ready, and come back again next week. Plus, it's hard to beat the value - visit just twice and it pays for itself!

As someone who sees winter stretch on every year, I genuinely think these passes can make this season easier. More fun, less planning, and fewer “what do we do today?” moments.

If you’ve been thinking about a winter pass, this is your sign that it doesn’t have to be a big decision. It just has to make winter feel a little lighter. You can learn more about season passes by clicking these words!

Thanks for spending part of your winter with us. We’re really glad you’re here.

Stay Warm!
