Department: Various Departments Throughout Metropolis Resort- YA Hospitiality Track
Status: Part-Time, Hourly
Hours: Approximately 10–24 hours per week

Metropolis Resort offers a Hospitality Youth Apprenticeship designed to give high school students real-world work experience while exploring a career in the hospitality and entertainment industry.

Our Hospitality Youth Apprenticeship can take place in a variety of departments throughout Metropolis Resort, allowing students to choose an area that interests them while developing valuable workplace skills. Throughout the year, apprentices will gain hands-on experience in their specific position while building customer service, teamwork, communication, professionalism, and job-specific skills.

This is an opportunity to learn from experienced team members, understand what it takes to be successful in the workplace, and begin building skills that can carry into future education and career opportunities.

What You'll Do

To participate in the High School Youth Apprenticeship program, students must:

  • Be a current high school junior or senior.

  • Be enrolled in the Youth Apprenticeship program through their school.

  • Commit to the full year-long apprenticeship program.

  • Successfully complete the required related instruction coursework.

  • Complete at least 450 hours of employment during each year of the Youth Apprenticeship.

  • Maintain the academic and attendance standards required by the Youth Apprenticeship Consortium, employer, and school.

  • Be able to meet the work schedule and requirements established by their school and Metropolis Resort.

  • Demonstrate reliability, professionalism, and a willingness to learn

What You'll Do

  • Work hands-on in your selected department and learn from experienced team members.

  • Receive specific job training related to your position.

  • Develop customer service and communication skills.

  • Learn how to work effectively as part of a team.

  • Build professional workplace habits, including reliability, time management, and accountability.

  • Learn how your department operates and how your role contributes to the overall business.

  • Participate in training and learning opportunities throughout the year.

  • Take on responsibilities that grow as your skills and confidence develop.

  • Work with your supervisor and school to track your progress and complete apprenticeship requirements.

  • Have opportunities to explore career paths and learn about different opportunities within the hospitality industry.
