As the year winds down, I’ve found myself doing a lot of reflecting. Not in a big, dramatic, “new year new me” kind of way; but more in the quiet moments between meetings, walking through the resort, or watching families laugh together in the parks.
And honestly? 2025 was a really good year.
This was the first year we gave away a car (still wild to say that out loud), and we hosted two big customer parties...if you were at either one, you know just how much fun they were. There’s something really special about seeing the same guests who visit us throughout the year all in one place, celebrating together. It was a highlight of the year for our whole team.
Behind the scenes, a lot of this year was about laying the groundwork for what’s next. We’ve spent countless hours planning, dreaming, and problem-solving as we prepare for our upcoming expansion. There’s a lot that goes into creating something new, and while not all of it is visible yet, the excitement is already building.
But my favorite part of 2025 wasn’t a giveaway or a big event. It was the people.
This year I got to spend more time getting to know our team and our guests. More conversations. More familiar faces. More moments that remind me that Metropolis isn’t just somewhere you go, it’s somewhere you come back to.
Looking ahead to 2026, I feel really excited.
Of course, I can’t wait to see our expansion come to life and watch an idea turn into something families can experience together. I’m also excited to see how our team grows because of it. But most of all, I’m excited for the moments we haven’t even imagined yet.
The birthdays.
The weekend getaways.
The winter swims that turn into sore legs and happy kids.
The “we didn’t plan this, but let’s go anyway” days.
The noise, the laughter, and the energy that fills the building when it’s busy.
And yes, even the messy, behind-the-scenes stuff too.
The plans we’ll adjust about a hundred times.
The themes we’ll debate, refine, and debate again.
The very serious conversations about garbage cans (you’d be surprised how important this is).
The new challenges that pop up that we never could’ve planned for, because you really do learn something new every day.
And all the small decisions that help create the big fun.
From all of us here, thank you for being part of our 2025. We can’t wait to make even more memories with you in 2026.
Here’s to another year of fun and to everything still ahead.
