Hi friends, it’s me — Splasharoo!
I’ve been hearing that lots of my buddies are heading out trick-or-treating this weekend, and I want to make sure you come home with the best candy stash on the block. I’ve been around a few Halloweens (and let’s be honest, I love candy), so I thought I’d share a few of my pro tips for making the night extra fun.

Buckets and plastic pumpkins are super cute, but if you’re serious about your candy haul, grab a pillowcase or a bigger bag. It holds way more and you won’t have to worry about running out of room halfway through the night. (Trust me...you don’t want to be stuck deciding between a Snickers or a KitKat. You need both.)

Every trick-or-treater knows there are “legendary” houses in the neighborhood. These are the ones that give out full-size candy bars. Start there first before they run out! Then make your way around to the rest of the block so you maximize your time (and your sugar stash).

Halloween is always more fun with friends. Grab a buddy (or two, or three) and hit the sidewalks together. Not only is it safer, but when the night’s over, you can sit in a circle, dump out your candy, and start the best part...the trades! (Pro tip: I’ll trade all my candy corn for your peanut butter cups.)

“Trick or Treat!” goes a long way, especially with a big smile and a polite “please” and “thank you.” A little kindness makes the night even better. And hey, bonus tip: compliment someone’s decorations. No promises but it might just earn you an extra piece of candy. 😉

You might be tempted to eat all your Reese’s or KitKats on the walk home (I’ve been there). But saving your favorites to enjoy later stretches out the Halloween fun. Of course, if you can’t resist, no judgment here. Halloween only comes once a year!
There you have it, my top five tips for trick-or-treating success. I hope your bag is heavy, your trades are fair, and your night is filled with fun.
From one candy lover to another: have the best Halloween ever!
See you soon,
Splasharoo 👻
