Sammy's Pizza
For an incredible slice, check out Sammy's Pizza on London Road. Sammy's has been an Eau Claire staple since it was opened in 1957 by Sam Perrella. Sam sold the restaurant to his best friend, Nick Jerulle, in 1971, and it's been in the Jerulle family ever since. Today, the restaurant is owned and operated by Jim and Tammy Jerulle, who carry on many of the same traditions that Sam developed over six decades ago.
Metropolis Resort
Metropolis Resort is a family-owned business featuring over 100 unique hotel rooms, an on-site restaurant, a trampoline park with ninja warrior courses, an indoor water park with a lazy river & aquatic playground, and a fun center with indoor & outdoor go-karts, laser tag, and more - all under one roof.
The owners, Tom and Shirley Hahn, began their journey in 1978 with Pinehurst Foods, a family grocery store. Over time, that entrepreneurial spirit evolved into several Dairy Queen restaurants and, eventually, Metropolis Resort. Action City launched in 2005, followed by the hotel in 2008, Chaos Water Park in 2009, and the trampoline park in 2016. Today, Metropolis Resort continues to grow, always adding new ways for families to make memories together.
These are just a few of the many family-owned businesses that help make Eau Claire such a vibrant, welcoming place to live and visit. From handmade jewelry to generational pizza recipes; from local kids’ boutiques to all-in-one resorts, each of these businesses brings something special to the community.
Supporting family-run shops not only means discovering unique local treasures—it means investing in the people and stories behind them. Next time you're out and about, consider stopping by one of these places and saying hi. You might just meet the family behind the counter.
