As the Digital Strategy Manager at Metropolis Resort, I get to watch a ton of birthday parties, family reunions, and school celebrations play out in real time and trust me, it never gets old. In this blog, I wanted to take you behind the scenes and share what I see (and love) about how we make those big moments extra special for every guest, with the help of our incredible team (shoutout to Bri!). It’s All About the Memories (and a Little Bit of Magic)

One of my favorite things about working here at Metropolis Resort is seeing families and friends arrive bursting with excitement for a big day. When you call us about hosting a birthday party, it’s not just about reserving a space, it’s about kicking off a whole experience. I wish you could hear how pumped people get, especially when Bri gets to sprinkle in some personal touches, like mermaid stickers. Those tiny details actually turn into the stories families tell for YEARS.

Birthdays are almost like built-in traditions, no matter your age, you remember the parties that brought everyone together, especially when there was something unique about it. That’s what we’re always aiming for here: helping you make memories you’ll want to relive.

Personalization: It’s Our Secret Sauce

We’re always asking kids’ names, favorite colors, party themes, and any small details we can use to make that day stand out. Bri is a rockstar at making sure you’re greeted by name and feel completely special from the moment you walk through the door.

And it’s not just for birthdays, schools, church groups, family reunions? We treat every group like they’re VIPs. Nothing is cookie-cutter if we can help it.

There’s a Lot Going on Behind the Curtain

You’d be surprised how many people are working behind the scenes to pull off the perfect party, seriously, there’s a whole army. Bri’s your go-to from the start, but then you’ve got the front desk crew, your personal party host, cooks, food runners, cleaning superstars, and, of course, all the awesome folks staffing rides and arcade games. We’re timing things just right so the room is spotless, the food’s hot, and everyone’s happy (no small task when there are back-to-back parties!).

But you shouldn’t have to worry about logistics, that’s our job. If you ask me, booking the party should be the “hardest” part, and from there, you just show up and enjoy.

Not Just Birthdays, We Celebrate Everything

The best part about my role? I get to see every kind of milestone celebration, not just birthdays. Lately there have been a ton of end-of-school bashes, senior trips, youth nights, even family anniversaries. Times are changing, people want experiences together, not just another gadget or toy to toss in the closet. I hear it all the time: “We could have gone anywhere, but we wanted to actually do something fun as a group.” That’s exactly what Metropolis was built for!

And even if you don’t have a party “officially” booked, we’ve got little ways to make your birthday visit special: handwritten birthday buttons, decorated hotel doors, our spin-the-wheel for prizes like arcade credits or pool passes. It’s all about keeping the fun alive for everyone.
