A Day in the Life of Spring Break Fun at Metropolis Resort
As the sun peeked through our curtains this morning, my kids were already buzzing with excitement. Today was the first day of our much-anticipated spring break getaway at Metropolis Resort, and we were ready for some serious family fun.
After a quick breakfast at City Eats, where the kids devoured fluffy pancakes and my husband and I enjoyed freshly brewed Caribou Coffee from City Coffee Co., we mapped out our day. First stop: Chaos Water Park.
The moment we stepped inside, the kids’ eyes lit up. The giant waterslides twisted and turned overhead, and the sound of rushing water and laughter filled the air. Our youngest, Emma, made a beeline for the splash pad, squealing with delight as water sprayed from every direction. Meanwhile, our adventurous son, Max, grabbed a tube and raced his dad down the Hurricane Run slide. The smiles on their faces when they hit the pool at the bottom were priceless.
We spent hours splashing, sliding, and floating in the lazy river before breaking for lunch. City Pizza Co. was our go-to for a quick and delicious meal. Watching the kids debate which toppings to add to their custom pizzas was almost as entertaining as seeing their excitement when the steaming pies arrived at our table.
After lunch, it was time for Action City—the ultimate arcade and indoor adventure park. Max immediately ran to the laser tag arena, while Emma couldn’t resist the bumper cars. My husband and I decided to test our skills on the mini-bowling lanes, where we discovered we were much rustier than we thought!
But the highlight of Action City was undoubtedly the arcade games. The kids were ecstatic every time they won tickets, strategizing over which prizes to pick.
As the afternoon turned into evening, we headed back to Chaos Water Park for one last dip in the hot tub before dinner. We decided to keep it casual and grabbed snacks from the Splash Bar—pretzels, cheese curds, and a refreshing drink for Mom and Dad.
To end the day on a high note, we joined in the evening activities at Splasharoo’s Activity Center. The kids loved coloring with Splasharoo, the resort’s friendly kangaroo mascot, and Emma proudly showed off her glittery craft project. Max, ever the competitor, joined a friendly duck race in the lazy river.
Before heading back to our cozy room, we stopped by Dairy Queen for a sweet treat. Watching the kids try to finish their Blizzards without spilling was the perfect way to wind down.
As I write this, the kids are fast asleep, their cheeks still flushed from the day’s adventures. My husband and I are relaxing in our cozy room, reflecting on all the laughter and memories we packed into just one day while sipping on warm cups of Caribou Coffee.
If you’re looking for a place where family fun and relaxation come together perfectly, Metropolis Resort is the place to be. This spring break, why not make memories your family will cherish forever? We’re so glad we did.
